Head Injuries and TBIs

The CDC reports that nearly 1.7 million head injuries are suffered each year in the United States. These are responsible for more than 30% of injury-related deaths.

Traumatic brain injuries refer to brain damage caused by a quick and unanticipated blow to the head or aggressive shaking of the head. Traumatic brain injuries (TBIs) can also result from situations where the head is punctured and normal brain function is affected.

There are many different types of incidents that can cause head injuries. But what all of these cases have in common is that they can cause significant mental and cognitive damage, long-term physical disabilities, and behavioral changes.
